Film studio DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. Thursday said eBay Inc. Chief Executive Meg Whitman will join its board of directors, adding her experience online and in children’s toys to the maker of computer animated films like “Shrek.”
Whitman has led eBay since 1998 and steered it to become one of the world’s preeminent online marketplaces. Its most recent quarter’s revenue topped $1.0 billion.
Whitman will boost the number of DreamWorks Animation board members to nine and join a group that includes Chairman Roger Enrico, CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, billionaire investor Paul Allen, DreamWorks co-founder David Geffen and Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz.
