Auctions: Creator of Toast Featuring Runaway Bride Gets Stale Offer

Source: CNN

Jennifer Wilbanks is a Georgia woman who ran away from her wedding due to stressing out over the huge event. Instead of admitting she was freaked out about her upcoming 600-guest affair, she faked being abducted and bought a bus ticket to New Mexico.

Wilbanks is now being charged for giving a false statements and false police reports. Wilbanks could end up in prison if convicted for the offenses.

An eBay Seller who created a goofy picture of Jennifer Wilbanks (the “runaway bride“) on a piece of burnt bread isn’t going to get paid for his toasty art.

The unfortunate man, who started the auction out at under a dollar, saw the auction price soar to over $15,000.

The Seller – “who said he planned to donate money from the auction to charity – was prepared to hand over the toast on national television, only to learn that the Buyer had a change of heart,” said CNN’s Offbeat News page (link to the complete article and photo of the toast).

Apparently the potential Buyer stopped returning the Seller’s calls, forcing the Seller to consider taking legal action against the busted Buyer.
