Just hours after the online auction company’s fourth annual gathering of buyers and sellers, called eBay Live, trinkets that eBay gave to attendees for free were being auctioned on its Web site.
One auction listing is for a set of 10 collector pins representing the 10 years eBay has existed. Each pin notes the year and an event in eBay’s history from that year. [One pin had] nine bids and the highest bid was $ 26.75 for the set.
Another auction listing, which also has a fixed-price option, is for a limited edition pin parade set that includes a certificate of authenticity. Selling in eBay’s store at the event for $100, the item had a starting bid of $249.99 or a fixed price of $500.
