eBay is encouraging traders to buy up toys and re-sell them on the site at a profit once shops run out during the pre-Christmas rush.
Desirable new gadgets such as the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 are among the items likely to be re-sold at higher prices, the site said. Shrewd traders can make money by snapping up the goods before they fly off shop shelves during the festive season, according to eBay.
PlayStation 2 consoles rocketed on the website before Christmas last year. E-traders were also selling Robosapien toys at a profit. eBay spokesman Charlie Coney, said “Lots of eBayers cashed in at Christmas last year whilst at the same time offering last minute present buyers the chance to purchase the must-have present for their loved one. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.” But Jonathan Fargher, PR manager for Sony Computer Entertainment, warned that e-traders could be forced to sell goods at a loss if they remain readily available in shops.
Since I don’t have kids I had to look up these items online to figure out what in the heck they were. The only one I know is Monopoly. I used to play Monopoly when I was a kid. But now I am OLD so I have no idea what any of this other stuff is. Ha ha.
eBay predicts the following toys will be the most sought-after items this Christmas:
1. V2 Robosapien
2. Xbox 360
3. PlayStation Portable
4. Furby
5. Amazing Amanda doll
6. Star Wars Electronic Lightsaber
7. Tamagotchi Connexion
8. Rock Angels Bratz
9. Monopoly 70th Anniversary Here & Now Limited Edition
10. The Da Vinci Code board game

This looks like fun. I like board games.

So cute. Would probably scare the heck out of my cats.

Does anyone ever notice these girls are completely disproportionate? They have giant feet and no noses. Aaaaaaaah!!!!
