Blog: Mom’s Last Chemo

August 29th, 2005 by Laurie Barak

My mom will be having her last chemo session on Thursday, September 1st. While she is happy that it will be the last, she is tired and doesn’t want to face yet another session, even if it’s the final one. She has lost about 30 pounds and says she is tired-looking. I haven’t seen any pictures of her lately; I am sure at this time she doesn’t want to be photographed.

The first few days after her treatment will be fine; by about the 8th day is when she starts having problems with it making her tired and feeling sick. I’m hoping she will be in such good spirits this is the last treatment that she won’t have such a rough time with it.

The breast cancer 3-day walk is coming up in San Diego and I have found a couple of folks who are going to carry a list of people who have had/have breast cancer with them during the walk.

Thank you all for your wonderful support. I always pass it along to her and she is amazed at how many people that don’t even know her are thinking about her. Thank you also for supporting me as well and reading my blogs.

Warmest wishes,

Laurie your Blogger
