For $600,000, a 40- to 60-year-old man can buy a house in a trendy Denver, Colorado neighborhood that comes complete with a bride.
Deborah Hale, 48, has set up a web site offering to sell her home to a compatible man who wants to spend his life with her. “I’m trying to come up with a creative way to meet more men and hopefully meet the man of dreams,” Hale said. “There’s a lot of fabulous women out there between 35 and 50 who are single, and they don’t want to hang out in bars.” Hale lives part-time in the 1910 bungalow-style house. She also has a jewelry business in Albuquerque, NM.
She posted an ad on eBay offering a “house with bride,” which was first reported by the Rocky Mountain News. But the ad was removed because it violated an eBay ban on offering marriage or dates, eBay spokesman Hani Durzy said. Hale said her web site had recorded more than 7,000 hits since the weekend and she had received at least 60 e-mails since Monday.
